Checklist install dual boot Linux
The laptop come with Windows 11 pre-installed with encrypted disk (Bitlocker)
- Disable Secure Boot in BIOS (required for Nvidia drivers)
- Disable Fast Boot in BIOS (fix sound card issue)
- Make sure microsoft account is valid for bitlocker recovery key later
- Resize C: partition using windows tool
- Set windows time to use UTC
- Boot using Linux usb storage
- Install Linux
- Optionally install Nvidia drivers from https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/NVIDIA
- Boot to windows, you will be asked to enter Bitlocker recovery key (only once)
- enable and start powertop service
- Boot to Linux
If you want energy efficient when using battery, use nouveau add this to /etc/tlp.conf :
RUNTIME_PM_DRIVER_DENYLIST="mei_me nouveau radeon"
or use nvidia drivers and add this to /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf :
options nvidia NVreg_DynamicPowerManagement=0x02
