Checklist install dual boot Linux

The laptop come with Windows 11 pre-installed with encrypted disk (Bitlocker)

  1. Disable Secure Boot in BIOS (required for Nvidia drivers) 
  2. Disable Fast Boot in BIOS (fix sound card issue)
  3. Make sure microsoft account is valid for bitlocker recovery key later
  4. Resize C: partition using windows tool
  5. Set windows time to use UTC
  6. Boot using Linux usb storage
  7. Install Linux
  8. Optionally install Nvidia drivers from https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/NVIDIA
  9. Boot to windows, you will be asked to enter Bitlocker recovery key (only once)
  10. enable and start powertop service
  11. Boot to Linux

If you want energy efficient when using battery, use nouveau add this to /etc/tlp.conf :

RUNTIME_PM_DRIVER_DENYLIST="mei_me nouveau radeon"

or use nvidia drivers and add this to /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf :

options nvidia NVreg_DynamicPowerManagement=0x02
